Hello Guys!
I have a big question, maybe some can help me.
I have T-mobile as my CellPhone Provider and I want to by a BlackBerry Storm, what version is better for GSM user like me. 9500 or 9530 ?
I hope some one can help me I want to be able to have FULL EDGE AT ALL TIMES so, Please let me know.
Thank you.
The 9500 is meant for GSM use, unlike the 9530 which is primarily CDMA with the ability to use GSM if necessary.
Most of us on GSM networks with a 9530 have got full EDGE all the time, but you have to be willing to play with beta OS's. There was someone in the EDGE thread who swapped a 9530 for a 9500 and said all EDGE issues went away no matter what sfi (radio) file they used. You can do a search for EDGE in this forum and you'll find plenty of GSM users working out individual issues. Just be prepared for a ton of people insisting that their private hybrid is the best thing since sliced bread.
As long as I don't try going any higher than .90 with the radio file I have full EDGE - always, day in and day out
The problem is that .90 has VSOD issues. Knock on wood I haven't had one in ages but statistically I'm well overdue for one. Probably my next battery pull now that I've said this
in my opinion the 9500 has less issues or atleast there isnt as many complaints and it is gsm only... I would go for the 9500 if your wanting it on T-Mobile. The 2 devices are virtually the same other than that.
