9500 is the GSM variant that works with Vodafone overseas. 9530 is the Global CDMA/GSM variant that works with Verizon here in the States. Plenty of threads debating this issue.

Good call. Almost forgot that aspect of it. The OS's are designed to specifically work with different types of technology (CDMA vs. GSM).
