    just downloaded 5.0 and it shows that i have a new sms or mms and i go to the icon there is nothing there but it will not go away...any ideas

    1. Backup your device.
    2. Go into BBDM and into backup and restore -> advanced.
    3. Clear the messages databases.

    Your indicator icons should be working normally.

    Check your messages folder. You probably have the blackberry and Verizon registration notices there.

    thanks i restarted it and it was gone...now that i have added 5.0 to my phone should i back my phone up? or would that reset it to 4.7?

    A backup will not affect your operating system, and should be done periodically to prevent loss of data in case your phones dies on you...
