i have a verizon storm 9530 that i unlocked and use on an ATT network. 3G is available in my Area.. my Friend has a bold that uses 3G and picks it up. I am only picking up EDGE... is there a way to fix this? or since it is unlocked.. will i not receive 3G?.. any advice on this?
unfortunately, you can only receive EDGE on an unlocked Storm 9530. It has something to do with the network frequencies. I've had an unlocked storm running on AT&T for about 8 months and I've gotten EDGE only.
No fix, the Storm does not have the correct radios for 3G in the US, as it's designed for CDMA use and European GSM. It DOES have the right 3G radios for Europe.
