Just wondering how many chose the 2 year contract or paid the additional for a 1 year? If you chose the 1 year how much extra did you have to pay for the phone?

I originally started my contract w/an Omnia but I got it for $269.99 (No rebates) on the 1 year plan Didn't feel like signing up for 2 years.

Ummmmm...if you look at Cell Phones, Cell Phone Plans, Cell Phone Accessories - Verizon Wireless, it tells you the prices of a 1 year contract and 2 year contract

1 year contract for the Storm is $319.99-$50 rebate=$269.99
2 year contract for the Storm is $249.99-$50 rebate=$199.99

    So its $70 difference.

I've had Verizon for years so I got mine at the 2 year rate with an extra $100 off on top of the $50 rebate visa debit card. It all really depends on if you think you're going to stick with Verizon for a long time (like I did).

I paid $229 for a 1 year contract ($279 - $50 instant rebate). My employer gets discounts so it made sense to pay the extra $30 for a 1 year contract. The nice thing is that they let me do this even though I bought a new Curve under a 2 year contract in May. Basically it shortened my contract by 6 months -- a win on both aspects.

I did a two year so that I could get New Every Two for a final price of $99. Even if I get a new phone at full retail next year (which is doubtful), my total savings of $150 ($100 discount for New Every Two plus $50 rebate) is higher than if I did two one year contracts.

I have had Verizon for several years and have always signed 1 year contracts, but since I switched lines around on our family plan and ended up being the primary line, I went with my first 2 year with them to take advantage of New Every Two. So staying with Verizon was already a given for me.
