My carrier, O2 in the UK, has released 10.2 for my Z10 so I upgraded this morning which was seamless but took around 30 or so minutes. Since then I'm noticing odd things like references to Balance in menus here and there e-mail + calendar + contacts no longer sync up, so it looks like a carrier supported OS upgrades causes issues ?.

Some things still work, such as changing and pushing of IT Policies works as expected, but that's about it.

I've not seen this stated anywhere but if you're activated against BES 10.1.x and accept the carrier 10.2 upgrade must you then activate your device on BES all over again ? (it certainly seems that way ?).

    Thanks.

Are you using the BB10 in Regulated mode or just with Balance?

In either case, I would not expect it to break activation, but let me get the facts and I will ask a security advisor from BlackBerry.

I thought as much, a big step backwards from the BB OS 7 and earlier days, added work for us BES admins

So far we don't know if the upgrade somehow failed or it is by design. The upgrade from 10.0 to 10.1 did not require any reactivation, and I doubt it is the case for 10.2. So let's keep calm and not "invent problems" until properly documented.

No matter what the issue is, OP is of course suffering from it, but let's try to do a few more upgrades and see.

Were they all EMM Regulated activation types or do you use EMM Corporate / Balance ?.

To fully take advantage of all of the features in 10.2, and to fully control them you will need BES 10.2 likely. It is currently in beta unfortunately. Which version of BES 10.1 are you using?

EMM - Corporate (BlackBerry Balance). Sorry. I should have read/understood the problem better. Anyway, now you know *that* type of activation type isn't broken.

Thanks for confirming, that is good to know and others will find it helpful

We're till testing BB 10 before rolling it out further and the other user apart from me is a Director, I don't fancy killing of their Z10 if I can avoid it.

We have several devices in regulated mode - upgrade to 10.2 OTA worked fine with no issues. We are using BES 10.1.3.

I am running on BES 10.1.1 and after upgrading to OS 10.2 that my carrier in Canada pushed down I didn't update to touch my device afterwards. Emails still flow without any issues. Now you mentioned that your not in Balanced mode so it may not go as smoothly for you but you'll have to try it.
