I'm actually a little suprised by this release. I was expecting the next update to be tied in with the release of RIM OS 4.5 . Unless I'm mistaken, I do not believe this update included BES support for some of the new 4.5 features right?
I upgraded and see no difference on BES for Exchange.
If you don't have a device with 4.5 OS, you won't see much difference. HTML emails, searching emails on the server, free/busy calendar look ups and many others require the new OS.
I upgraded my server but you are right. I don't see how we could use the new features without a OS upgrade on the client side. I guess this means that the 4.5 OS release should be any time soon now. Hopefully it's today or next week.
I still find it weird that you release a server update with new features where most of the new features require a device OS upgrade that you still have not provided or made available...
I think this indicates that RIM will release OS 4.5 soon. Why would it release this new service pack, with a bunch of features that are useless without the new OS, if they aren't planning to release it soon.
WES starts on May 12 and goes through the 15th. That sounds about right for a release of the new OS. Let's hope so, at least....

AZA
I would hope they release it before that myself. Yeah, as many of you may notice, I can't wait to get my hands on it.

We kind of knew that, which is the point of this thread. We're just all standing here, waiting for RIM to release the 4.5 OS update already!

I dunno, makes sense to me - apply an update to the server to allow the BES Admin to plan/set policies BEFORE all of his Crackberry subscribing Users start upgrading their BB OS on their own and demanding server updates for their new features, and generally running amok!
Tho if you have a BES full of 'run of the mill' it doesn't really apply, but c'mon show me a BES which doesn't have *one* user who thinks he knows better than the admin!
Hi guys, I feel I should give it a try to everything new (I like to try it all), so I will Patch my BES and try it, since I have it on VM I'm not worry if I mess up.
My question, is there a way to push the 4.5 update to all devices ?
