    Hello,

    We are using:

    BES 10 version 10.1.0.45
Exchange 2010 (Version 14.03.0123.003) with ActiveSync enabled.
All of our devices are BB z10s with OS version 10.0.10.99

Last week we started to give out the new z10s to our staff. Steps we performed was:

    1. Set up a new account on the BES for each user.
    2. Activate each user via the BES.
    3. Assign each user to the same email profile.
    4. Issue the command Set-CASMailbox -Identity [email protected] -ActiveSyncAllowedDeviceIDs BBPINNumber within Exchange powershell.
    5. Ensured Include inheritable permissions from this objects parent was enabled in the Advanced Security settings of the users AD profile.

The above steps worked successfully and all 43 users including myself are in sync with the BES, Exchange mail and Exchange contacts.

All except one person, and we cant figure out why. We have tried 3 different z10 phones and he still has a problem. So we have ruled out that the phone may be faulty, the problem has to exist elsewhere.

We are able to activate this user on the BES fine. The problem comes with syncing him with Exchange, he will start to sync fine but only get some emails from exchange on his phone, same with his exchange contacts. But will never get all of his email or contacts. Then after an hour or two his contacts and email will disappear from his phone, like it never synced.

Does anyone have any idea as to what is happening and how we can resolve this issue? We are thinking maybe the problem is with the users SIM card but we arent sure, as we had the wifi connection enabled when we were activating via the BES, could there be a problem with it though?

    Kindly advise.

    Regards,
    A

The steps you have taken I have never had to take so I am not sure if you are taking the right ones.

BES 10 talks directly to Exchange proxying EAS then re-encapsulates the packets from 128bit to 256bit AES.

If your Exchange server is open to the internet (443 / 80) you should try to add the user to their device using ActiveSync and not through BES, does it work?

When creating new user accounts in BES one of the steps is to add the email profile to their account which is what you should be doing instead of trying to add it afterwards.

We had to go through a different route as our exchange server is not open to the internet.

The problem has now been fixed, though none of us can figure out why. A collegue of mine had to restart the exchange server for a different issue, once the box restarted, the problem user was able to sync without issue. So restarting looks like it cleared something.

    Appreciate your reply though.

    Thanks,
    A
