    Hi,

quick one hopefully....in BES5 there was a policy which would let you change the message that appears on the lock screen. Does anybody know if this is possible in BES10?

    Thanks

Set the owner information from an IT policy, also you can use the BRK to set it per user

Thanks sith and thanks for the welcome!

Unfortunately according to some blackberry technical reps i have spoken to, both at service provider and direct at blackberry, i am the only customer in the world having trouble upgrading to BES 10.2. When i finally get my issues sorted i will use the policy.

What issues are you having with upgrading? What version do you have?

Please follow these steps to do a clean uninstall of BES 10.1.

    1. Uninstall via Add/Remove Programs
    2. Uninstall any cached MSI's manually using steps below:
      1. Start > Run > C:\Windows\Installer
      2. Copy .msi files Authored by Research In Motion to a temp directory (e.g. c:\temp). To see the author of the MSI files, in Windows Explorer use the Details View and add the Authors column to the view.
      3. In command prompt, type "dir /b C:\Temp" > uninstall.bat
      4. Edit uninstall.bat and remove uninstall.bat in the list.
      5. Replace ".msi" with ".msi PF_RIM=1" (e.g. 4dd3a1.msi PF_RIM=1)
      6. Prepend msiexec /q /X C:\Windows\Installer\ to all the entries. (e.g. msiexec /q /X C:\Windows\Installer\4dd3a1.msi PF_RIM=1)
      7. Execute uninstall.bat
      8. Delete the RIM registries from HKCU and HKLM
      9. Delete the install folders and log folders
      10. Delete the Core and Comm sites from IIS

    3. Uninstall any products the installer would have installed, such as Java, BlackBerry Device Components, and any MS server software products.

Unless what you are experiencing is a DB error (possible obviously) the above should help. This will COMPLETELY remove any instances of BES10 from your server, and allow you to do a clean install of BES 10.2.

Keep in mind that if your issue is DB related, none of the above will help. Also, if you are using BDS 6.2, I dont believe you can do a straight upgrade to 10.2. So use with caution. If you are running a VM, take a snapshot BEFORE trying the clean uninstall/install of 10.2, that way it is easy to revert back.
