I would like to share part 1 of my series on Implement Blackberry Enterprise Mobility Server (BEMS) on-premise in a Blackberry UEM environment (installation of single node and multiple nodes)

I requested access to the link as well. I'm trying to utilize BlackBerry share for fileshare access and BlackBerry access for internal websife browsing and I think I need BEMS installed along my UEM....

Some useful tidbits on your site. Thanks. I now have BEMS successfully installed and executing push email notifications for BlackBerry Dyamics Work app. Environment is UEM at 1 site and an extra Connectivity Node and the 1 BEMS at the other.

2 hurdles which I had to overcome were:

1). configuring the BEMS on top of a SQL Express database on the same server. Let's just say that messing around with SQL Server config and dynamic vs static ports is not my thing. I realize in retrospect that I could've used the database hosted on the server which hosts UEM (their sites are connected with a site-to-site VPN) but this was so much more fun! :-)

2). integrating BEMS with Microsoft Exchange. Ended up with hosting it on a different server than the UEM. This is actually BlackBerry 's recommendation anyway but even though I can't see why this is true, I found this out the hard way.

3). I know I said there were only 2 gotchas, but this one, too, almost made me give up. Yes, folks, you *do* have to connect your BEMS to a proxy...typically the UEM and its proxy. Since I configured a Connectivity Node on the server which hosts BEMS, I configured that as a proxy in addition to the UEM.

Thanks for posting this. I requested access. We have BEMS and UEWM 12.8.1 right now. We have had Bems since 2.2.
