    Hey Guys,

I am trying to get the 60 day Trial of BES 10 working with my Exchange Server 2003 SP2 and an iOS device.

The installation worked so far, aswell as the activation of the iOS-Device. The Connection to the Workspace is working too. But when I start the configuration of the "Work connect"-App the Client says "not able to check account data" after I put in my Exchange user (E-Mail, username, password).

    Settings (Status):
    APNs Certificate Status: Successful
    Microsoft Active Directory: Successful
    SMTP Server: Successful
    External SCEP: deactivated
    Push Server: none configured
    Work Space Status: Successful
    Secure Connect Service: deactivated

    Library:
I just added a "Microsoft ActiveSync Profile"
    Profile Name "Exchange 2003"
    Credentials "none"
    Domain "'FQDN'"
    Email Address "%UserEmailAddress%"
Host name or IP address "Exchangeservername"
    Username "%username%"
    Use S/MIME "no"
Disable movingor sending email messages and limit sync time "no"
Disable synchronizing new recipients to devise address book "no"
    use SSL "no"

When I try to connect to my Exchange through ActiveSync with a Testing tool everything works fine.

    I am using this Versions:
    Exchangeserver:
    OS: W2k3
    Exchange 2003 SP2

    BES-Server:
    OS: W2k8 R2
    BES 10.1.2

    iPhone: iOS 7.0.2

Thanks for reading, if anyone has a hint for me, that would be nice.

    P.S.
I assigned the following Policies and profiles to my Testaccount:
    IT Policy: "Default"
    Microsoft Active Sync: "Exchange 2003"
    Compliance: "Default Enforcement Policy"
    Work Space
Work Space IT Policy: "Default Workspace IT Policy"

You got further than me.... I've seen some spec say that it should work with 2003 and other spec say 2008 is required.

this is exactly my problem. I also have seen both statements. so I'm not sure, if Exchange 2003 is fully supported.

It does work with Exchange 2003 SP2. Have the same configuration. I only use no iOS-devices, but Androids (tablets, no phones). Had a hard time getting it to work, but finally succeeded. Just make sure your SMTP-server (in settings) is correct, AND you can send an activation-email to your client. Don't know about iOS-app, but Bes10-client on android-store is different from client mentioned in generated email.

Why are you not using SSL, you need SSL to allow verification of credentials. SSL should be selected.

Take a look here. Many features may not work with that old a mail server.
