Hi,

Just today my Q5 has lost volume on the ringtone.

Its a reconditioned Q5 (still better than any modern smart phone btw) that has, up until today, worked perfectly.

The sound works. If I go to set the ring tone I can hear it fine; the alarm works ok to.
The volume is up.
There do not appear to be any overrides in operation.

I have read through the posts and tried a few things (resets, changing profiles, even setting up a new profile) but nothing seems to work.

Before I try a full factory reset; does anyone have any advice or tips.

This is my first BB phone so I am new to BB OS's and operations; so please feel free to mention anything that might be 'obvious' to you. It may not be to me.

Try the volume rockers on the side of the phone.

Do you have override profile volume checked? If so, check the volume level there:

Notifications > profile name > phone > override profile volume

Thanks for the response.

The side buttons are set to maximum but the name given to the slider they control is 'media volume'. I am assuming this covers phone volume; is this a correct assumption.

Yes the override is set but the volume is up. If I do not have the override on the result is the same.

The side buttons shouldn't be media unless you have media playing.
