    I have one for over a year now. But I still don't get why is it supossed to be a budget version of the Q10 or a upgrade.

    The same reason that the KEY² LE got released.
    More options across price points

    Because it was low-specced and aimed at regions which couldn't afford the more expensive BlackBerry 10 devices. It filled the lower end price point.

    it was awesome. it had a better screen and during the first three years of BB10, while the Q10 was constantly suffering with double typing, the Q5 was flawless.

    Your wrong on one thing the q5 has a worse screen then the Q10

    No you're wrong. The Q10 screen was way too dim.

    The tech is better on the Q10. But brightness is usually less on AMOLED.

    No. The resolution is the same. Both 720 x 720 with 328 PPI.

    But the Q5 has a cheaper screen to keep the price down.

    I have the Q5 and the Q10. If I remember correctly (I don't use them often) the Q5 has only 8gb of internal storage instead of 16 on the Q10. The Q10 Has AMOLED screen, Q5 doesnt. the Q5 has a Qualcomm 1.2 ghz Krait. the Q10 has 1.5ghz Qualcomm Krait.
    The Q5 was supposed to be the somewhat more affordable choice over the Q10. The price difference was between 100-200$ depending on what region.
    I always compared the Q5 to my Curve 8520 & the Q10 to my Bold 9900.
    the Q5 doesnt feel as "expensive" as the Q10 - however thats a completely arbitrary statement

    Either way, both are solid phones and i've never had issues with either Q5 or Q10
