There's no denying the Q5 provides outstanding value, and is the clear winner in this regard.

I'd have gone Q5 if it were my $ being spent on the phone. However, my carrier threw a Q10 my way, for $0 (after applying a few credits) to retain me as a customer. That's the only reason I have one, and not a Q5.

I am a Q10 owner, but this thread convinced me to get a Q5 as a gift for the wife. I bought it unlocked for $300 on eBay as a replacement for her Torch 9810.

I spent the evening setting it up, and I gotta say, I can see the attraction of the Q5 compared to my Q10. These points were made before, but...

1). Price - Obviously cheaper than a Q10.
2). Screen - Same resolution & does seem brighter.
3). Style & feel - The Q5 is plasticy, but it is light and comfortable to hold.
4). Keyboard - I like the Q10 keyboard better, but I really like the space between the keyboard & the screen on the Q5. I am not too accurate when I get going and I often inadvertently hit the screen while typing on my Q10.
5). Responsiveness - I think I notice that the Q5 is a bit slower than my Q10, but the difference is small.

Summary: Q5 is a great device! The wife loves it so far and thinks it is a huge upgrade from her Torch 9810.

I'm a newcomer here, and yes, I myself has downgrading my Q10 to Q5..
And no, I don't have the red one like most that I read here.. I took the Black one (just the same as my Q10 because I do love the all black features)

And yes, the brightness seems to be no problem to me, because even in my Q10 I do use the least brightness options just the same at my Q5..

But nevertheless, I hate my Q10 for having double type problem..
And yet I don't find any double typing problem on my Q5, but sometimes it feels more laggy than my Q10..

Yes, and the camera also better in Q10..

But hey, for value for money? I think Q5 is a wise choice..

I have Z10 , Q10 , and Z30.
Recently I got the Q5 (white) and I totally agree that Q5 is an awesome device. It is the one I am using right now. The screen is bright. Keyboard typing is much better than Q10.

I am very glad that I switched from Q10 to Q5.
