    Easy enough to find out. I just snapped some shots with the three different perspectives and checked the results.

    1:1 images are 1936 x 1936 pixels, which is ~ 3.7 megapixels.
    4:3 images are 2560 x 1920 pixels, which is ~ 4.9 megapixels.
    16:9 images are 2560 x 1440 pixels, which is ~ 3.7 megapixels.

    Looks like the 1:1 and the 16:9 are crops and the 4:3 is the 'native' resolution of the sensor.

    Although the actual number of mega pixels changes depending on the image shot, I have also found 4:3 to contain the most info....both on my phone and digital camera alike....on videos as well as stills...
    This is now the ratio I use for all recording in order to capture the most info...I can always choose to crop later...
