I just purchased a Q-5 for my wife and out of the box I was being told to delete some apps for a new update. How is this possible and how are others with storage pace?? Mind you I didn't put a data card in the phone before being told to delete something.

Probably best to connect it to BlackBerry Link and update it that way, the storage checker is a bit buggy

Then insert sd card on your device after updating it through BlackBerry Link.

Do a security wipe on the phone then the update should work.

Install BlackBerry Link first and do a full backup.
Check for updates from Link. Using Link to download and install the update will minimize the space required on your Q5.
Do regular backups using Link.
