Are there any US carriers planning to carry the Q5?

Not that I've heard of yet. I'd love the red one.

It is available through here though, for $499.00

Probably not, but if you really want one you can buy it unlocked from Best Buy and use it on a GSM network like AT&T.

They should have made a push with pink Q5 on T-Mobile. Especially now that Tmob distinguishes phone price and plan cost. Q5 would substantially be cheaper than Q10 and even more important customer gets to see that instead of the usual "its FREE for you to take it home and then we take it out of your plan and you never know how much you paid for it when its all set and done"

I would buy it if it was like 100. Those prices match the Q10 and Z10 that have superior hardware. It's ridiculous.

Wow! That price is amazing for the BlackBerry Q5. I paid CAD450.00 plus taxes only a few months ago. USD/CAD250.00 is the selling price I said this smartphone should have been offer to consumers from the launch date.

I have a couple questions for those in the states with unlocked Q5s.

Can anyone confirm if the unlocked Q5s sold on the net (newegg, amazon, etc) work with AT&T 4G/LTE?

Does the wifi hotspot (or any form of tether) work with the unlocked Q5 on AT&T?

I purchased the Q5 (model SQR-100-2) from Amazon, and it does not get LTE.

It also appears that AT&T will charge you for any form of tethering.

Still, it's a great phone. I have tried a ridiculous number of phones in the past year, and the Q5 is likely to be my daily driver for the foreseeable future.
