I had to get SD cards for my Game cameras and went into the Source to check out prices. I stepped into the store and was shocked to see there prominently displayed and staring at me, my baby. To the right the Q10 and to the left something ugly. I stopped and immediately a sales clerk came over and asked if I was looking for a smartphone. I replied No! I already have one. I came in to check on SD cards. I asked her how well the Blackberries were selling and she said very well. I went to look at the Sd cards and then turned to the sales person and asked if they were selling the Q5 and she said yes it is on the other side. I went around and there was my baby with a big sign, `Save` and a price of $ 49.95 on contract and to the right a red Q5. I asked how well the Q10 and Q 5`s were selling. She replied we have only sold one Q10 since they came in but sold out of the Q5`s in two days and are having a job to keep it stocked. I said that makes sense. the Q10 is really just a status symbol and the Q5 more that adequately does the job.
I reached for my baby and stroked her screen but she did not turn on and respond like she normally does. I so wanted to turn you on, play with your display, install Jelly bean and play with all of your Androids but you were just a Dummy and not the real thing . I was so disappointed that I could not turn you on that I forgot to ask how well your sales were going.
But I did not need to ask, you the best there is in the market at that price, and displayed so well, you had to be doing well.
Not until half way home and recovering from seeing baby displayed so well did it come to me that maybe they just had baby turned off. So who was the Dummy, dummy.

From time to time I get almost tempted by downgrading my Q10 in favour of getting a Q5. I am not much of a mobile gamer type, so I don't need those 16 GB of internal memory. The keyboard, to my very positive surprise, seems to be even better than the one on the precious Q10. Everytime I play with the Q5, it appears I do make less typing mistakes. On the premium QWERTY I often hit two keys at once, having to correct often, on the budget QWERTY however, that hasn't happened even once. Even though I am not familiar with that keyboard, while I'm using my Q10 as a daily driver since almost four months now.

Last but not least the slower CPU is barely noticeable in real world performance and the decent LCD display is more enjoyable than the low-quality (compared to Nokia) AMOLED display the Q10 uses.

However the not changeable battery is a real downside and I already got quite some cases for my Q10. So I didn't sell it yet.

I thought the same at first (well, similar);
I had the Z10 and thought I might miss the larger display and removable battery, also losing 8GB of internal storage and some performance.. but I wanted a physical keyboard and the Q10 is too expensive without contract, so I went with a Q5.

Since I booted the Q5, I've had no regrets about buying it, the keyboard is great, despite all the reviews I've read, all saying Q10's keyboard is so much better.

I haven't ran out of battery once since I got it, so never felt the need to remove the battery.

The lost 8GB, well, I have mostly everything on my SD Card, and it's not even 1/4 full so, it's not a big issue at the end (for me at least)

And like you said, the performance is not noticeable, that said, I don't use my phone to play games, but I did try a few to see how it ran, and had no issues so far.

All in all, this phone was a great buy in my opinion and don't regret getting it!

My store has sold one Q10 since launch and not one Q5 - but double digit Z10. Had a customer looking at the Z yesterday, in fact. Was going to come back today (he came in at 5 minutes to close and wanted to read a bit more, it's between the Z and iPhone). The looks aren't winning anyone over, when we get the high school kids in at lunch we've heard some...unflattering comments about the Q5.
