    My friend has the same Q5 version as mine and data connection doesn't seem to work for her. It is under warranty, though.

    This is in Karachi, Pakistan. Idk if the IMS issue is related, but I bought from the same place and I can connect just fine. My device never had this option.

    Thank you, that makes much more sense on how it is related to the deactivated data services. This is the first time I have seen this happening on any device (I haven't seen a lot of devices ._.)

    I was going to update my friend's phone with, but holding off till this gets fixed. Otherwise, I think she might face an issue claiming the warranty.

    IMS is for WiFi calling (WFC) and voLTE (and possibly other features down the road.) So if your carrier doesn't offer anything that leverages IMS, it should show as disconnected.

    My carrier offers WFC on certain BB10 phones, so Status shows up as 'Connected' whenever my WFC is on.

    OP, does your friend have a data plan?
    Does Ufone require a BIS plan for BBs (regardless of BB10 vs. BBOS?)
    Or could it be a provisioning issue?

    I had been on Ufone before I switched to Zong and it worked on normal data package. She, however, is unable to connect to the internet through 2G/3G - just wifi.

    Both our devices are from the same shop and mine doesn't show this option at all!

    Edit: although, I had promised my friend two months back I'd get her an answer from CB, it's good to finally have a perspective!
