    When ever I try to scan a write to a blank NFC tag, my Q5 tells me "This tag is blank or not recognized" error. I have attached a picture of the error. I have no idea as to why this is happening as I am fairly new to using NFC tags, so any help would be appreciated.

    NFC tag Specs:

    Main Chip: Fudan F08 compatible S50
    Small, durable, do not fade
    Waterproof, shockproof, anti-corrosion
    Can be hung on channeling keychain for easy carrying
    Storage capacity: 8Kbit, 16 partitions, each partition with 2 grounp passwords;
    Size: Approx. 40.5324.2mm
    Operating Frequency: 13.56 MHz;
    Communication speed: 106K Boud;
    Read and write distance: 2.5 ~ 10cm;
    Read and write time: 1 ~ 2ms;
    Operating Temperature: -20 ~ 85 ;

    The description did say that they were for arduino but I don't think that should make a difference.

    My Q5 model is SQR100-1

    Thanks for any help!

    Different devices only support very specific tags. For example, I have 3 types of NFC tags at home - my BlackBerry only lets me interact with 1 type - and its the type with the smallest amount of space.

    Based on my experience it only supports a couple of brands and they need to be very simple NFC tags.

    yes the different types of NFC tags is yet another barrier to broad adoption and use. Makes no sense that the standard bodies that oversee NFC didn't specify one type of tag or change the standard to enforce support of multiple types. Imagine if this chaos reigned in WiFi where if you didn't have the right 'N' device you couldn't connect to a specific Wifi 'N' router.
