Do Sandisk "Dual" USB drives work with the Q5?-sandiskultrausbdrive1_galle-100245944-gallery.png

It's the type with both standard & micro USB connectors.

I had one of those.. some jealous coworker stole it from me.

It won't work on the Q5.

    Thanks to both.

I knew there was no USB OTG but it seemed so basic I felt there might be an app (which I obviously never found) to permit this.

It would seem that otg is more an issue of *can my device power things via the usb port.

The passport as well as the Z30 both have extensively larger batteries and subsequently can power via usb.

Maybe one day someone will release a hack - but I think it just would not work very well on our Q5's. We have good battery life from lower power consumption on the cpu and smaller screen.

For USB OTG you need a special controller in your system. No hack or app can switch the hardware-related client to host mode in the USB-subsystem.

Therefore the Z30 or the passport are right now the only way to go.
