ok so first of all both my phones have the same blackberry ID
if i set up bbm on my new phone and click 'continue' rather than 'restore contacts using email'
will i still be able to use blackberry link to restore my contacts from 8520 onto my Q5 [new pphone]

please understand what i am asking and please help

instead of giving me alternative my initial query is- can i restore contacts in any way shape or form if i click continue rather than restore with blackberry id

sorry I can't help you there, boss ... just last week I experienced a different scenario and managed to restore my BBM contacts from within my BBM (backup) options.

YOUR exact scenario, though, is foreign to me.
