I've owned my q5 for about a year. recently the battery has been draining at a very quick pace. i am trying to download the new os in hopes that it will solve this issue, but since it isn't working over wifi i'm trying to use link. however, when i click check for new software Link is telling me that i have the latest software installed, which isn't true, my phone is running 10.2.1.3602. can anyone help me? Thanks!

I dont think that the update alone could solve your problem. I would first uninstall all the apps you have downloaded, re start the phone and take it from there. A factory reset could be helpful but back it up first, you will lose everything.

I second Tessoro Desoto. Moreover, the latest is 10.3.2, you won't be able to downgrade.

Q5 uses the same Autoloader as the Q10. The Q5 and Q10 have the same radio and use the same OS.

Is the official 10.3.2 out yet. And do you solve low memory issue with q5. It says i need to free up space to download 10.3.1. How do you free up space when you basically have a new phone out of the box? Sorry for posting another problem rather than a solution OP.

Having same issue with father inlaws Q5 even blitz won't install.

I'm gonna have to go over there and do a autoloader. And back up and restore by the looks of things.

I just updated a new out of the box q5 to 10.3.2 using the official Telus OS update OTA no problem.

On my existing Q5, I used BlackBerry Link and updated from 10.3.1 to 10.3.2 through my computer, it took much longer and I ran out of space so I had to delete some apps and do it a second time where it was successful. An interesting side note is that when I ran out of space the first time, I still had about 270MB free when it crashed at about 98% loaded. After the 343MB update was successful the second time, I had 2.2GB free. So you need more space to update the OS than the size of the update would otherwise state.

Correct the device runs the existing OS while downloading and installing the update then deletes old files on restart. This is way memory is being freed up

I've always used the autoloader method which is *sort of* like a security wipe and have had no problems doing it this way. I hate Link and have never used it for installing OS's.

So if you plug into pc open link and use custom backup you can see file sizes and possible remove enough stuff from your phone in sachesi... I manged to free a gig this way but I still ended up backing up less the system settings stuff (source of problem) and used autoloader and restored -junk.
