    SQR100-1 is what I am using in Canada. The pink q5 is a nice looking phone. I bought my daughter one. I use a black one.

    But does it matter what model number I use? The only pink ones available to buy are shipped from Hong Kong China on eBay.

    I would try this one instead. I assume that this website will refund your money if you are not satisfied. If you buy from China, probably not going to be able to get a refund.

    I was told the SQ100-1 is the one that will work in North America. Unfortunately I only see the pink Q5 in SQ100-2. Any reason as to why?

    You have to check the bands from the version of the phone with what your carrier requires. Maybe it will work fine, maybe it won't. Maybe it will just work on a 3g network.
