Q5???? My prediction 399.99 or at minimum 349.99.

You add tax and your looking at spending 400-450 for the Q5! Compare this to the z10 and the same pricing on the samsung galaxy s4 mini and I think this phone will fail. Sure it will have some sales but I think with the current pricing, there is no way people will switch to blackberry. If we go back, the blackberry q10 was selling at a higher price than iphone 5. Big mistake as the sales figures show.

In my opinion if blackberry want's to be competitive they should price this at 249.99 or 299.99 without contract. They need to wake up and be realistic.

Q5 is not coming to Canada. Also, the Q5 and Q10 will eventually drop in price (in my opinion).

U can grab it for $499 brand new and I would expect once the novelty cools off within two to three months it will be well below $400 and after a half a year or year we should see it around $250 due to mass sales.

reason : sony xperia SP, galaxy grand , lumia 820 , nexus 7 all have the same price range

First month seems to be priced for business bulk buyers.Just wait a month or two for price drop no one bites expect quick drop.I have no idea how this phone will do the marketing and PR team is poor.

I dont understand why BB subscribers have not recieved any email that BB was transitioning to BB10 devices with all the info of features and devices available.

Its like sports whoever wants it more does well.If BB continue with the foolishness get ready to call things collectors edition.

This may not mean a whole lot, but there exists (well...as far as RIM's word is to believed these days ) a variant of the Q5 that has North American bands. If not the US, I would assume they would be releasing it at least in Canada?

The UK is hardly an emerging market either but the Q5 is selling there. I'm not sure what BlackBerry's message is with regard to the Q5 to be perfectly honest.

Should be between 200-250 $.
More than this I think the Q5 will be a big failure for BlackBerry, as they are targeting the countries from Africa, Asia and middle East.

I understand that BlackBerry needs their margins but the price also has to be low. I also realize that carriers usually set the pricing and take a large cut.

Why can't they do what Apple does and also sell the Q5 off contract directly to customers online? I am sure even with a retail price of $450, they are getting no more than $300 from the carriers anyways.

Sell it directly to customers for $300 to flood the market and push carriers to lower their prices.
