I saw that on another site, good to see! I can imagine some people will buy this just for the battery life, whether they can afford the Q10 or not.

I actually liked the shiny black back of the R10 (in the other photos elsewhere). I'm looking forward to seeing it and the price. If it was at most $100 (depending on specs) I'd buy it. With a 5mp camera, though, I think I'd only get it free or $50 on contract (so ~350 off contract?)

Sounds good 1800 was way too small for a non-removeable battery

i feel we getting shafted us Z owners.Im not surprised by big battery keyboard and touch input must be draining.

But I think the Z will eventually be well optimized to last long.At the minute its only if you leave the Z sleep the battery really stays good. Its the usage thats inconsistent some days its solid next its like how wtf happened.I think by end of year should be sorted.

But good look for the R I didnt expect removable back i thought bb was going away from that but who knows,

As a z10 owner stuck on a 3 year contract the r10 looks to be exactly what I want. I miss my qwerty keyboard. Although z10 is a lot better once I took it out of the otter box

It is not a removable back in the usual meaning of the term, you can clearly see from the way that battery is attached that this is simply one where somebody has ripped the back off of the device.

hmm i see.Sure a bigger battery would be better but The Z can still perform to the level we want. The R and Q have to have hat battery life typing and touch and hard use needed that. The Z idle for hous barely goes down its teh usage thast inconsistent once they sort that out will be solid but i dont expect it till end of year once teh api's for background usage gets revealed haha thast gonan be whole bunch of update tweaks.

I hope sometime they make another Z10 battery that's larger that you can buy at the store. Do you think they could?

You might see 3rd party batteries, but it is very unlikely that we will see an official one sold by BB, for the majority of z10 users they will be getting sufficient battery life that is easily comparable to competitor devices and for those who use their device more heavily the official option is the external battery pack accessory.

If you think about it, going for that option is a more flexible one than a bigger battery because using that would mean your device was always bulkier for roughly 50% more battery life, whereas with the external pack you keep the slimness of the device most of the time, but have the option of doubling your battery life on those times when you are going to be using it more.

Better off with something less intrusive on the screen, I'm using iSkin fits the phone perfectly.

Kinda makes you wonder if the Z was a high end device at all. So far even the "Entry Level curve Update" has a better battery

any battery with "real" useful extra capacity has got to be bigger and would require a bigger back to cover it. There is no way to get more power out of the save battery size with the same chemistry. Beware of battery makers that "claim" much higher capacities for the same battery as there are law of physics in play here.
