Which one has the better weight and battery life? I was thinking of waiting for the Q20 but with the bigger dimensions that I am seeing, it kind of turns me off. I want a phone with a physical keyboard that can fit well into my pocket and has a really good battery life while not being too heavy.

Which one is better? I'm going to buy one tomorrow. The price doesn't matter.

Easily the BlackBerry Q10 it is the high end phone of the two so obviously its the better of the two although the Q5 is very good as well for its price, not as good as the Q10 but excellent nonetheless. Honestly you can't go wrong with either. Don't forget that the Q5 comes with 8GB whereas the Q10 comes with 16GB though!

    Thanks

I'm not talking about power though or memory (since I only listen to music and already got a 32 GB card...I am pretty sure the Q5 weighs less.
If the battery life is better on the Q5, then there is a good chance that I will get the Q5 instead.

Does anybody know the battery life difference? I mean real world experience...not what Blackberry claims.
Or maybe BlackBerry Curve 9320? How is the battery life on that? Honestly all I want is a pocketable phone with nice battery life...doesn't hybrid touch screens and more powerful processors drain the battery life more?

I'm leaving in a few hours to get one...I'm leaning more towards the Curve 9320 because the battery lasts for days apparently and the size is quite small...anyone else want to weigh in?

If you are very concerned about battery life and don't care about the new operating system go for bold 9780 or was it 9700? It was either of the two that has good reviews about battery life in blackberry phones

Curve 9320's are alright but I'd get a q5 or q10 because their battery lasts a decent amount of time if you configure the settings for it and of course it's faster and better than 9320 in general

My Q5 battery is easily lasting more than 24hrs...Please note that I use it mainly for texting, social networks and a bit of browsing...I hardly play games on it...

I use a Q5 for business. The battery lasts all day under very heavy use. Under light use it can easily go two days. Excellent speakerphone by the way. I would highly recommend the Q5 over the Curve. Much more powerful phone compared to Curve and the BB10 system keeps getting better with each update. Highly underrated phone IMO.

Hmmm.....that is pretty interesting...so maybe I will go with a Q5 over the Q10 then. I looked around for the Blackberry Curve at Wind Mobile...apparently Blackberry discontinued it and I would need to buy it online which I do not like to do in case the phone is faulty. So For weight and battery Q5>Q10 then?

I chose the Q5 over the Q10 because I preferred the screen and keyboard. Battery life is pretty comparable I think with the Q5 possibly better since the processor is slower. However with the Q10 you can swap battery's if you get low. I have never killed the battery on the Q5 in a normal business day so the swap-able battery turned out to be a non factor for me. Sometimes on the phone for hours too. The phone is very light and rigid too so nice for portability.

BlackBerry Q5 can last days when properly configured. Airplane mode and screen brightness are the easiest to implement.

Oh really? I just tested my brother's blackberry curve 8300 and it has lasted a few days so far...maybe I'll settle for the Q5 since I can't find any Curve phones compatible with the Wind network (AWS).

All the BlackBerry 10 phones are "plug in every night" phones and are in the range of all touch screen phones. I have a 9320 that I used waiting for BlackBerry 10 to come out: it is compact and sturdy. If all you are worried about is some email and texting then it will be fine but *anything* else then go for the Q5.

Well after a few days with the Q5, I've decided to return it. A hybrid touch screen/keyboard phone just doesn't cut it for me...it just feels unnecessary. I'm going for the Blackberry Curve 9320 and hoping that it is ok since I am buy it from Kijiji.

Thanks guys for the help though. The battery was quite good on the Q5...but the touch screen/keyboard combo just doesn't work very well. Hopefully they will come out with a keyboard phone with a track pad again some day but until they do...I'm sticking with a basic phone.

However, the keyboard was actually pretty damn good. I feel that if anybody wants a hybrid smartphone, they should get the Q5. I was more than happy with my purchase in general...the phone just wasn't for me that's all.

Or wait for the q20 that will have the track pad. You will miss not having advanced OS imho.

I dunno...I don't want it to be too big. I want something smaller width and depth-wise than my Samsung S3. Samsung's phones seem to be getting bigger and bigger with very few improvements...a lot of phones are sadly (for me anyways). Maybe I'll wait for the specs for the Q20 and hopefully the price won't be over $500 outright.
