Was elated to find the notification of the official 10.3 update on my phone.
Had to delete all data after a back up of my q5 as I did not have sufficient memory. My q5 was asking me to free up 1.5gb of space. Hence restored to a 'wipe' after a backup.

The process of updating was fairly fast. Took about 3 hours to complete. The 'wipe' took more time than anything else.

It's now been about 30 hours after the update. Seems to have settled. The battery backup is a sure increase.

Only thing troubling me is the size of the icons. Too small for my comfort. Am not able to change the size. Any suggestions welcome.

I no longer update over the air (OTA). I had to virtually clear my phone to have enough space for the update. Used BlackBerry Link instead. No problems and done within 30min.

Things seem to be working ok apart from some minor issues. And of course having to get used to some changes (namely Calander).

I was surprised to see that there still is no consistency as far as light/dark themes are concerned.

I agree about icon size. I'll probably get used to it but an option for icon size would be nice.

I mentioned on another thread that I like the update, but I feel it's best on the larger screened BlackBerry's.

    The ui portion anyways.

Love everything about 10.3.1 except that it takes waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much space.

Stupid Fido hasn't pushed out the update yet, so i'll just stick with it.

    It's 10.3.1!

    10.3 was Passport exclusive.

I have loved it since I have been using it. A HUGE jump over 10.2.1 (or whatever I was using prior to this). I have not come across any issues that cannot be fixed and have been a satisfied user overall.

    Features I liked:
    - Neater Hub
    - More customisations for notifications
    - Much improved Android runtime (although, I don't use Android apps much)
    - I don't remember anything else (being old, my memory fades me).

There are a lot of things still missing, though.

Removing amazon app store can clear more space than you'd expect.
The update will reinstall it anyway.

I've been happy so far except for the "Blackberry Assistant." I find it cluttered and more annoying to use than the old search feature. I turned off most of the extraneous stuff I don't use but I wish I could get rid of that annoying huge microphone icon since I have no intention of using voice commands.

Some of the visual changes have taken getting used to but overall I think I like them and my phone is running well with the upgrade.

Some Android apps now come with a new function (slide from top) to change views of the app.
With the Q5. I can now get a full screen view of most apps customised for the #5, that were originally built for the full screen phones.

Dropbox takes longer to show up the file list. Used to be very slow before. Slower now than before. Atleast 3 times slower.

You didn't say anything about how you did the update. What version were you running before? Did you do it over WiFi or with BB Link? Did you get the update through your carrier? Do you have a backup?

I had to free up space for my Q5 update. I didn't have any settling issues though, it just worked.

Will a security wipe help me? I don't want to do it unless I absolutely must (Link is glitchy on my Mac since its last update).
My Device Manager shows 2.65 GB used by system and 1.39 by apps, with 1.67 free. It's asking for another 1.4 GB for the update (ota, Link didn't give me a size just an error code) but the majority of my apps came factory installed (except Instagram and a few smaller ones like SoundHound) so i'm wondering if a wipe will even free up enough space...
I only have 200 MB in user files, and those seem to be mostly dupes in the android folder which can't be erased by bb file manager. Anyone able to tell me if a wipe will shrink my system and/or app storage enough to update? Also wondering how much storage the system uses after updating. Thanks!

A security wipe freed up enough space for me to do the OTA update, and now running 10.3 the system is taking up 2.17gb of storage. Good luck if you go for it!

Maybe doing the wipe was the issue. I found I had to free up about 2.5 GB which meant deleting a number of apps including Snap which was one of the larger ones. I also deleted the Amazon app store since I knew it would be replaced. Your best bet at this point might be to restore your previous version from your backup and then try it again after freeing up enough space.
