Touchscreen is the most important part, and I like it to be symmetrical. A well designed slider would be ideal however. I know a couple people who have 9800/9810s who are going to hold on until something else like that comes out.

I cant WAIT for the N series! Ive had several androids over the last years along with my BB's, and I just left my Droid Razr MAXX on the shelf and bought a BB BOLD 9930...And I havent regretted it ONE MINUTE since I did!! Turning my BOLD White hoping that will help me hold out till the N releases in Q1! *grins*

Until recently I don't think I would have even considered a full touch as my main phone but I've been so impressed with the PlayBook VK to date that I can't help but at least consider it. I'll more than likely end up going QWERTY, the tactile experience is second to none and makes for easy touch typing. Either way I am stoked for the launch, I haven't been this excited about a BlackBerry launch for quite some time.

Usually I'd take the physical QWERTZ, especially over the full-touch one. However I'm interested in what kind of slider options RIM might deliver with BB10.
It also boils down how the input system for special characters will be solved, since the trackpad will be gone.

So I guess you don't consider the Storm 1 or 2 BB's? What about the Torch 9850 or 60? How about the Curve 9380? Here I was thinking those were all BlackBerries,

I am looking forward to this device. The BB keyboard has always been want has kept me wanting to stay. I currently own a 9930, but do not use it much. This is the device that I hope keeps me back with BB.

After using my 9850 a lot along side my 9930 I am finding it is not really the keyboard that keeps me with RIM, but more the overall speed and efficiency of getting things done on my OS 7 devices. RIM's attention to that is something I have come to appreciate. Kinda like being an expert command line user on a PC. Not as flashy or pretty but just down to business.

So if RIM keeps that then I think I might opt for the "L" at first and then check out the "N" later.

I agree with some posters here about the trackpad. Its really central to how I use a BlackBerry, even my Torch. RIM better have some touch gestures that are as precise since they are taking away the trackpad.

I love my 9900, so depending on how the N feels in my hand, if it retains a trackpad, keyboard shortcuts, has front and rear auto-focus cameras, longer battery life, USB3, better keyboard, faster processor and more memory then I will stick with 9900.

Give me the utility of a keyboard with shortcuts, add LTE over bridge to my Playbook and I am a very happy camper. Oh, I am digging the extra real estate but have mixed feelings about losing the touchpad. That thing comes in very handy more often than not.

I'm not sure the L has more real estate if you usually have a keyboard on screen, as I do.

My Android is a pretty big phone (Samsung Galaxy Skyrocket), and with the on screen keyboard up, it has only a smidge more non-keyboard window than my BB 9900.

To the topic: I'd have to get the physical keyboard, though I am disappointed that the 9900 layout has been fiddled with (to lose the smile).

When I had a Storm II and Torch--having come from and 8800 and 9000, I was initially wowed by the screen setup, but quickly missed the shortcuts and accuracy of typing. I am sure the new slab will have plenty of features to keep the user's attention, but I think I would regret the loss of a physical keyboard and the shortcuts and, in any case, I enjoy NOT having to focus so much on my phone to make it do my will .
