I was previously able to open x-vcard attachments in text, but now I get a pop-up window: "Unsupported Attachment - The selected attachment is not supported". Q10 running Any suggestions?

Nybody has a solution for this? The only work around I found was to save the x-vcard as a .vcf file and then it will open. But it would be more practical just to click it in the inbound text and add it to contacts instead of having to re-name it.

I just had a few vcards sent to my Z10, and i got the same response when trying to open them. only thing i could do was to long hold the vcard icon/picture.. overflow menu opened up from the right with two options... 1)save 2)open in contacts. Selecting the second option to open in contacts opened the vcard, where i could save it there.
    hope this helps.

    on a Z10 running 10.2.1.

Save to file to memory card from the text message, hold on it then tap save choose location on memory card

Navigate with file manager to the saved file tap and hold tap properties then on the bottom edit button, the pen, then rename the extension from. X-vcard to .vcf. Save, it will open now.

ContactsExchange did not recognize .x-vcard extension either. Using Properties->Rename->Override extension->.vcf. Then import into contact list. Anyone know where .x-vcard extension originates? I received it from a new Apple 6 iPhone

    Thanks guys.

A buddy sent me a mutual friend's contact info via text message. He has an iPhone and it was in the "x-vcard" format. I got the same error message mentioned above.

First, I did a long-press on the x-vcard file in the text message and selected "save" from the pop up menu. This step simply saves the file as is onto my memory card, but it doesn't make the info available to the Contacts app.

Next, I opened File Manager, found the file, did another long-press and selected "properties". In the Properties box, I tapped on "Rename" at the bottom. Then I used the backspace key to erase the file extension ".x-vcard" and simply replaced it by typing ".vcf", and ignored the warning by tapping "yes" to the "do you want to continue?" prompt.

Now, still in the File Manager, I did another long-press, and selected "Open in Contacts", then "Save".

    Done. Whew.

Thanks for the tips on how to do this.

If you hold the icon on the card, the option to open in Contacts and to save are present. I tap open in contact, and presto!
