    Country: Colombia. Carrier Movistar

Last friday I bought a Blackberry Q10 and my carrier invoiced the sale and the discount for an Iphone 5. That is interesting to say the least.

Judging by the documentation I filled out and signed, plus the couple of computers they used to meet my purchase request and a bar code reader they to use in the box they gave me with my phone in, I thought they had a strong inventory system.

Nothing that cannot be fixed, but I wonder how their internal stats show purchases on friday, at least in my case. 1 Iphone sold, but 0 Blackberry Q10. Iphone sales are soaring over the Q10.

Attached is the invoice (colombian pesos). And yes, VAT is 16% (very high I know)

Wrong invoice. I got a Q10 and they invoiced an Iphone 5-movistarfacturaerrada.jpg

    Holy crap...an iPhone 5 (and I'm assuming a Q10) costs 1.5 million Colombian pesos?

Yes is pretty much what the Q10 costs without any discount. However I paid 392 dollars with one-year service contract.

The Iphone full price without a service contract is 1.5 million colombian pesos and the Q10 is about the same price right now. With a service contract (applying the discount) is 60% off. In the wrong invoice I have no idea how long is the service contract for that discount (probably 1 year).

Full price at current exchange rate (1947 Colombian Pesos per Dollar) is 770 dollars minus 458 (discount for a service contract) totals of 312 dollars for the Iphone. As I mentioned before, for the Q10 I paid 392 dollars with one-year service contract.

Interesting. I guess I was just thrown off by a number in the millions haha. Didn't realize what the currency conversion rate was.

Well VAT in Germany is 19%, I would love it to have only 16%

This is very interesting.... I wonder if/how the sales of the different phones are tracked which would influence the numbers on phone use or market share.

They probably get better kickbacks from making it look like they sell more Iphones?

Lol. I thought about that too. But it would be hard to explain to corporate why your inventory left says 99 iPhones, whereas there are 100 in the store
