Do you think this is something that phone/software is capable of with an update????
Will BlackBerry make this an an in between feature for those that occasionally want to use the trackpad, but won't get a classic?

The Q10?
no. it already has a keyboard. why would you need the trackpad?
2008 technology.
I thought I would miss the trackpad and belt with my Q10. But I don't. Selecting, copy etc has been fine for me. Amazing how we can adapt.
Sent from my Q10 or Z10.
If it gets an update where it can have a virtual toolbelt, I might keep it instead of getting the classic
And having 0 screen real state?
I'm not too concerned about the screen, the Q10 screen is ok for me and so is the screen on the bold.
Probably never. Ever.

It might be possible if they replace the current stripe that occasionally shows the back button, with a more persistent one that contains a virtual track pad, the back button and a menu (i.e. Overflow) key. It could perhaps be invoked and hidden with a double thumb swipe up from the bottom edge (like how the keyboard is invoked on the Z line).

This is how I feel too. I thought I'd miss the trackpad, but I don't. I've adapted, though I'll get the Classic and will probably adapt back. The Q10 is such a nice device, I'm kind of amazed by the number of people who try it and go back to their 99xx.

I'd use my 9900, but I prefer bb10 over bb7. I also like the slightly smaller form factor of the bold 9900. Reading the posts on the classic, it's going to be bigger than the Q10, which I don't think I'll like. I also don't like the squared off edges of it. I'm aware these are just artist renderings, but not my style.
Yup. Don't get me wrong, I loved my 9900. It was a sexy beast but that browser... ouch. I do miss the LCD screen. Not a huge fan of amoleds.

You could get half of the q20 benefit with software emulation but you can't duplicate the functionality with software/os. If there is a q user who is satisfied with the current state, you'd probably prefer a full touch... try z30. I'm not judgy, I just feel that there's no 1 phone that is best for all people. Q20 will be best for people who need to get **** done 24/7.
I probably won't consider a classic until I read lots of stuff in the forums and watch a bunch of video reviews.
virtual keyboard would be nice for languages like russian...
Luck you, BlackBerry Dakota 9900 is re launched again :D
I'm so over this tool belt! Let's see when the classic comes out it should sell like hot cakes since there's so much command for it.

The only thing the Q10 is missing is the ability to set some keys up as shortcuts to open some applications.
