My phone will not respond to my swiping motions. Instead, my phone opens my emails, texts, goes to facebook, goes back to my emails, etc. WITHOUT ME TOUCHING ANYTHING. When I do manage to regain a bit of control and try to send a message or check my emails, it kicks me out and starts freaking out again.

Also, when I swipe up, my phone screens stays black. The only way I can unlock my phone is if I press the power button at the top of the phone. Doing this brings up the 'enter your password' screen to allow me to unlock my phone.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

No mention of your os. If it was me I would try to backup the ph and then use an auto loader or even BlackBerry link and put the phone back to original. If it still does it then maybe you need a new screen or something

Sorry, my OS is 10.3.1. updated yesterday. the problem started a few hours before I updated the OS and have continued for 24 hours after the update.

I'll try to backup and connect to Blackberry link. Thanks for the info

Seems to be an issue with your capacitive screen. If you have a screenshield, take it out for good. And swipe your screen with a cleaning solution (like for glasses) before proceeding again.
