Is this normal for BB? Even first Nokia phones had that option. I can use mine only in bedside mode. Unfortunately it drains my battery.

I don't know any other OS/Phone which can sound the alarm with the device powered off, apart from Symbian.
Plug your phone in... I don't get why people who go to bed at night don't plug the phone in that way it's charged for the morning and rest of the day!

It is updated. Had that problem at 10.2, have it still now
First thing I noticed when I got the Q10. Guess they didn't see the need for it but I liked being able to turn off the phone at night while charging knowing the alarm would still work. I don't think it actually powered down but more of a "hibernation". Anyway I miss that feature!

It's nothing to do with updating the OS, it's not a feature for the Alarm to Sound when the device is powered off..
