Have you tried another cable?

Well, the answer is really easy...
Look @ the capacity from your curves battery, and from the q10... i think it is 50% bigger...
So, a bigger battery needs longer charge...
Simple math..
You can use a playbook charger, this loads up really fast but isn't made for the q10 battery...
IMHO: The fastest way to charge your phone is to turn it off and use the official wall charger. The slowest way is to leave it on and use the USB cable plugged into your PC.
Mine does not take that long to charge. I have noticed however (as mentioned above) that there is quite a variance depending on the cable that is being used. Stick to the OEM cable + wall charger and you'll notice rapid charging times.

I think when the battery lives were increased at 10.2, the charge time took longer.
I always use a wall charger and I'd probably say it takes best part of 40mins with a Z10, guess the Q takes longer.

Buy the BlackBerry premium wall charger the next time its on sale at Crackberry. It will charge your phone in no time.
The wall charger for the Amazon Kindle Fire also charges my Q10 quickly.

I use a 1A PlayBook charger to charge my Z10 everyday. It's super quick and it doesn't make any harm to the battery (BlackBerry actually confirmed it).

If you use a USB connected to a computer it will charge very very slowly
I believe most usb ports can only output up to 500 milliamps - that's why it's so slow. The higher the output In amps on the charger, the faster your device will charge. I tried a cheap 650mah charger in the car and a popup came up that said use the charger that came with the phone for best results. I normally use the PlayBook 1.8A (or 1800mah) at home and it charges very quickly. I bought a dual port car charger with one port rated at 2.1A (2100mah) and one port at 1A (1000mah) and there is a noticeable difference in charge times. When my kids are in the car, I have to give up 2.1A port for their tablets, as the 1A port won't even charge them.
Also, charging from 50 - 100% in 75 minutes is not bad. It takes 4 hours for my daughter's iphone 5c to charge from dead to full.
