I have a Q10 and purchased the classic. The larger and brighter screen alone I think should be enough reason to pick it up if you have the money to do so. I still pretty much use the gestures 90% of the time as i'm used to the Q10 by now, however the trackpad does come in handy when selecting text, navigating web pages and when you need to reach the top furthest corner of the screen. The phone itself feels pretty premium. The camera you might say takes better photos but it may just be the better screen.

It sounds like the Classic is better than the Q10, but not $449.95 better. Maybe a couple hundred better? :-)

That's the calculation I'm doing. I still want to get one, but will wait till the first digit of the price is in the twos (plus the OS needs a few more releases to fix all bugs it sounds like).

The classic is cool but I love my Q10 and haven't had it that long. i'll see what happens in the summer and maybe get a classic then.

to me the size of the Classic would be better than Q10 (mainly because of the larger screen)
and the navigation key is another plus. however I do not find the other 4 keys will be helpful for OS 10

Personally, with the new OS, there is no actual need for the tool belt on the classic. It is more for those who are still more comfortable with that style. I'll stick with my Q10 until I can get my hands on a passport.

Played with the Classic today and it felt quite big.

It's the same height as the z10 but it's wider, so it does feel larger than the z10.

It's a very elegant phone no doubt but I just feel like they didn't have to make it bigger. The screen honestly is still too small, and doesn't really offer any practical advantage over the q10 in terms of screen size.

This phone is a no brainer for tool belt die hards, but there is a trade off in terms of size I think.

I'd stick with the q10 overall if you don't need the belt.

Maybe for $225, but I'm definitely not paying $449 for a minor upgrade, in my opinion.

If prices where the same I would take the Classic because I do like the trackpad. However, if BlackBerry offered a device with a nub in the middle of the keyboard like the IBM think pad that would be perfect. I'm not convinced that slabs of glass are better than buttons. For price, specs and size the Q10 delivers.

Although I love my Q10 and I'm now used to gestures, but my old bold 9930 was my all time favorite. I know classic really resembles this so no reason for me not to get one. I will still keep my Q10 though.

I remember you - you felt the q10 was the perfect size. Honestly you might not like the classic it's actually quite large.

Still on my Q10, was gonna get the classic but that 'none-removable' battery just kills me... tooo risky etc!

Hopefully blackberry will release another Q10 style phone in the future.

Yeah, classic adds navigation key line plus larger screen but I don't want big phone, plus the hardware is the same as Q10 and the price is overrated.
I'm still want to stick with my Q10. I wonder why they don't design Classic like 9900 and insert 10.3.1 into it :/

When I had my Bold, I found the trackball doodad to be totally hideous, and wished it had a full function touch screen.

Guess what? The Q10 is perfect for me. I'll pass on the Classic. I'll wait for the "next gen" Q10.

The classic is akin to the iPhone 6 plus - cumbersome to carry around and large with no apparent advantage.

The Passport is the only modern phone where you actually get something useful from the awkward size.

Everything else, even on my z30, its actually not that useful. I'd much rather take the width than the length for reading. As for watching videos honestly, if I wanted a rich media experience I'd be watching at home on a real home theater. The iPhone 4 screen was small and the nexus 6 is still small, but its too big, if you get what I mean. It's such an asinine argument to say well, 6 inch display is better for video - it's still tiny.

The Classic is the exact same way - it's unnecessarily large with zero advantage. The screen is bigger yes, but it's still small...

The only reason for the classic is the belt, wouldn't the screen size since it's honestly still a 3.5' screen...

On vacation and life testing my new Q10 against my new Z30 I've been using this fall...nothing against the Z and actually I really like it's keyboard. But smaller Q10 is so much easier to carry and use. Not seeing much need for the Classic either as the toolbelt not that needful to me. Q10 it is for me...

The Q10 is awesome. The Classic is very similar (obviously) and there will be little difference in the two devices, except for the 'toolbelt' (obviously). All the 'toolbelt' does is add more ways to interact with BlackBerry 10, nothing more really. The Classic is not a step back, it's just a Q10 with a 'toolbelt' and some updated specs. I was originally totally against any return to a 'toolbelt', but logic says it is a good move for BlackBerry to have this device for die-hard trackpad users. It makes sense that they built it actually and I think it's pretty d@mn good. No reviews necessary, it's BlackBerry 10 with a 'toolbelt', and that's basically it. If you like a Q10, you will like a Classic.

Q10 looks better than classic. And that toolbelt is unnecessary!

    Posted via CB10

Classic is too thick. Keyboard spacing is bigger so is not quite ideal like the q10. Bb10 is designed for no toolbelt but BlackBerry brought it back truly for marketing purposes.

It also feels slower than the q10. Screen isn't better either. Needed to be as snappy as the passport but the passport efficiency is markedly worse.

    Q10 it is

The Classic is sort of like a hybrid of the 9900 and Q10.
    Posted via Q10
Yes, but unfortunately, the quality is not as good! When you pick up a 9900 or a Q10, you can feel the quality. With the Classic, although a heavy phone, you don't get the same feeling, mainly because of the keyboard/toolbelt/screen gaps and the plasticy back cover.

if they updated the specs a little for the classic i'd get it.. it's literally the q10 with a bigger screen and bigger battery which would be good but it's less ppi and no longer amoled which is probably why it needs the bigger battery. it's a wash.
