I really looked forward to using it when I first got my Q but found that I got motion sickness from my eyes moving up and down so much. I also found I wasn't as fast trying to use the predictions as just typing everything out. I have turned the predictions on again and don't use them unless I need help or am typing one handed. That is when the predictions come in handy.

Also, if you don't want it at a time, you can swipe down on it and it will go away.

Another big plus is if you are not sure of the exact word you are looking for (or how to spell it), and you start typing it, usually it will come right up.

I actually heard about it, but just figured it was available on the virtual keyboard phones. When reading this email, I decide to find the option and turn it on. Wow, freaky accurate isn't it.

It is pretty good at predicting words but I have found I am actually faster at typing.

I use it all the time, but I also have 3 languages activated. (English +2 others) I am thinking of deactivating the other 2 as well.

I have it ON, but it can be pretty frustrating because I have two languages activated (English and Dutch).
I bet it would be a lot easier with English activated only.

I do and I don't. I have show predictions off as I don't like having them pop up on the screen and it feels like it disrupts my typing flow. I do have corrections with space bar and learn new words on as it seems to have learned my acronyms and usually corrects my spleeing on the fly

I have it off. Can type faster w/o it. Maybe it's more helpful on touchscreens.

My lazy thumbs don't prefer leaving the keyboard, going up to the screen, clicking the word and coming back down.

It is pretty accurate on mine as well as I have put on the Learn New Words for sometime. So in some of my sentences I just keep on tapping the predictive text. I am amaze lol. At first I keep on going up and down with my eyes but now I keep my eyes on the predicted text. Getting used to it. At first I also didn't like it that I put it off now I'm really liking it. I just have to type one or two characters then it shows up. Though this is making me lazy lol

Find my typing faster with the predictive text turned off with my physical keyboard.
What I do is actually set up the Word Substitution for my common words. So when i type using my 'short hand' it subs the words that I want to use. i.e: type 'tom' --> tomorrow, 'r'-->are, 'ts'-->thanks, 'msg' --> message

Takes some effort to set up, but typing any message becomes a breeze after that.

It's another great BlackBerry feature. As an old BlackBerry user I was used to just looking at the display while typing, I have adapted my typing to use it. I really only use it on bigger words as I can type smaller ones quickly anyhow.

To me, the predictive text on a Q10 is much more a hindrance than anything else. Jumping back and forth from typing to click the screen is a massive time waster. QWERTY typing on a QWERTY keyboard is orders of magnitudes more efficient than predictive text.

I use it as well, I find it very useful. It is also helpful when I don't know how to spell a certain word. But sometimes I notice that the words I select from the take up a lot of space when I'm typing a text message and then the message will not be sent out.

    Wow,

Until I read this thread, I thought predictive text was only for the touchscreen phones like the z10/z30, which I use all the time.

I just found where to turn it on in the settings and just tried it out on my Q5. I think I will be using it from now on. You learn something new every day.

    Thanks guys (and girls)
