In OS 10.2.1.279 - Settings/Main Volume under Always Adjust Media Volume there's an on/off toggle with the explanation: "Turn off this option to adjust notifications volume when media isn't playing." Huh? What does that mean to a normal person?

It means the volume keys adjust media volume only when media is playing. Otherwise it will adjust notification volume.

Music is playing. Lowering volume lowers media volume only. Music is not playing. Lowering volume lowers notification volume only.

Granted, it could be written more clearly.

I usually just have it control media volume only and silence my phone from the drop down if I need to.
