    Hello Folks,

Any thoughts on whether or not the Q10 will drop in price over the next few months?

With all these write downs and unsold units, what happens to the inventory?

1 webshop (which also runs 2 physical stores) in Belgium is running a promotion for the Q10 azerty at 299 Euro.

I just bought a new, unopened Rogers Q10 yesterday, which I got unlocked. Best $300.00 I ever spent.

No, I had to pay $30.00 for a worldwide unlock. Still a great deal, considering they sell locked for $450.00 on kijiji. It was a Rogers phone that was never opened. Great device.

I managed to get a slightly used one on the marketplace section for 300, with accessories.
They are starting to drop in price on the internet, not so much in the retailers...

Kewl. I have to think that the stock is sitting idle since the big losses. I would think that these Q10's would have to hit the market sooner or later.

Anyone know what happens to unsold hardware?

The cash price for a Q10 is not likely to change at Canadian carriers. I don't think they often change the cash price, just lower the contract price and eventually just discontinue the phone. That being said, there should be some deals on BlackBerry phones during the boxing day sales, but once again linked to contracts.

As for unsold hardware, there is probably a market for them somewhere, other than here. If BlackBerry dumped cheap hardware into the market in Canada, they would create ill will with their biggest customers, Rogers, Bell, Telus.

I suspect hardware is cleared either through the commercial markets, such as offering customers highly discounted prices on the phones to facilitate the upgrade to BES10. BlackBerry could also sell them at a discount to distributors in markets where people buy the phones without a subsidy from the carriers, such as India or some of the European countries.
