This morning my phone heat up even in stand by. And battery of course drop like he'll. I follow steps online to hard reset my phone and the heating stopped.

But battery also drop 10 percent without any activities within two hours. Is this normal for q10?

If this is not normal. Should I re flash my phone or a replacement of new battery?

What should I do with battery drain issue?-img_20161019_221404.png

hard to say. if the battery is over a year old, it could be replaced as it might be the battery. On the other hand, reloading your OS may help it you recently installed an app that is causing the drain and the heating up issue. You can try uninstalling the last few apps you installed and see if that helps....

    Doesn't sound normal.

I'd look at the battery monitor, and consider uninstalling any recent applications or updated apps.

If that didn't work I'd reload the OS back to factory and start over without restoring any data.

But the Q10 is old and it is possible a new battery would improve things...

There were some great Battery Health and monitoring tools for BB10.

I had very bad battery drain. After uninstalling all Android apps, it got much better. But, I eventually had to do a clean install of the OS which is really the best solution. That being said, I have had my Q10 for three years and am still using the original battery. It definitely does not perform as well anymore. But I usually just charge my phone at work or during my drive home.

I found out when bring my q10 to area with weak coverage, the phone will heat like hell and that's why battery drain a lot!
My mtk android device have about 2 hours in this situation, is bad . But phone won't be heating like q10.
I hope this issue can be fix in 10.3.3 .

"Weak coverage" coupled with inconsistent service are "probably" the bug a boo of all mobile phones! Resulting in heat and poor reception. Verizen, Sprint and ATT are main players.

New battery and reload OS to default didn't solve this issue for my now dead Q10.

    And same for my 9900.

Try to clean the micro hdmi port.

I read somewhere that this port could get "shorted" with dust and the phone is continuously trying to switch to hdmi.

    Just a guess.
