So my phone likes randomly restarts on it's own...what does that mean? is it sorta like when Windows would restart on its own to diffuse threats?

Loose battery? Real low signal? Bad battery? Bad app? Bad OS?
I had the same issue and found that my battery was loose.
I placed a small strip of sticky Velcro tape on the battery to give it a snug fit. I'm sure any kind of tape might work. Velcro was all I had at the time.
Just make sure the battery fit snug in the device.

I had the same experience for a long time. It would happen if I shook the phone or it got bumped when putting it down on a solid surface.
The battery was loose. I got a staple, bent in the edges and stuck it in the battery compartment so the battery wouldn't move. After that...it never happened again...even if I violently shook the phone or purposely plopped it on the table. Solid! No more problem.
I hope this post helps you. It's a problem that's easily addressed if it's the battery.

Some batteries or q10 compartments have a snugger fit than others. I had two new q10s that reset when bumped or placed on a surface. Sucked big time esp since restarts take so long and you need your phone.

I wouldn't use anything metal, might short something out, ouch.
I had a few restart lately. I think my Q10 was jus cold...
Mine did that for a day, then basically flaked out on me. I've done many things to resolve but nothing worked.
Battery loose
What I did how ever do at own risk
Put a folder paper or foam over battery
I used a foam
If the cover is on but was tight to get on you got enough in there. Put phone on flat table and now it spins greatly.
This fixed my problem that sounds like what your phone us doing.
