Hey everyone
I'm thinking about getting the Q10 pouch but also wondering whats the volume like when the phone is in the pouch? It seems like the bottom is sealed and in one piece. My guess is the sound coming out would be severely muffled, or am I wrong?

Don't know about the Q10 but the Z10 is still audible.
There is no volume or mode settings when you use the pouch like on BB7 devices where you could setup to go to vibrate or loud setting.
Only things are,
+ lock when holstered
+ answer when removed from holster
+ hang up when holstered
Hopefully these will come in future updates, 10.2 is a great set forward so it's only a matter of time :-)

With my Z10 the sound was indeed muffled. I could still hear it for the most part but when in noisy environments I would sometimes miss calls. I cut a small hole in the bottom of the pouch which solved the problem. This was a fix which I also applied to my mom's Q10.
