Just got my Q10 not too long ago and tried recording video for the first time as I've done many times in the past with previous Blackberries.

The results were very disappointing.

I'm recording my son's band indoors, and it appears that the camera just tries to repeatedly focus... achieves focus.. and then every few seconds while recording it starts the cycle all over again. Needless to say, about 45 minutes of recording is totally ruined.

The light levels were good, not great, but we're never a problem in the past. Any ideas? I've gone through all the settings/user directions but can't find a way to turn off the "continuous autofocus". I wait until I get the "green outlined box" and the start recording... and then it gets a mind of its own.

Any help would be most appreciated. If this is "normal" I'll be returning the Q10 since I use my phone for video all the time.

Press the three dots menu button on screen set the shooting mode to normal.

Selecting "normal" seems to have no effect on the autofocus. Even when I move the focus box to the target in the video that I want to ensure is always in focus during camera mode, it keeps cycling through in focus and then out of focus. This is really a total pain and makes taking videos pretty useless. Is anyone else experiencing this?

happens to me so annoying. yet, in camera, i have to point down then back up just to get it to refocus...
