Anyone know if the Verizon Q10 will be shipped unlocked like the Z10 is? I know the Z10 works on AT&T but only gets EDGE...just curious about the Q10 as well..it would be nice if it would pick up atleast the HSPA+ GSM bands in the US.

Verizon news release said it was a global ready phone, so yes it'll be unlocked for foreign gsm networks. Looking at the Q10 wiki page the 3g radio is quad-band umts, unlike the Z10 which was only dual band umts. But I doubt it will get hspa+ on AT&T's network as most other Verizon world phones never get 3g signals on AT&T.

I pre-ordered mine so hopefully I will get it tomorrow, so I am going to try it out with a AT&T sim and see what happens.
I got my q10 today, screen says unlocked for each option. Dont have another carrier sim to try but. fwiw
What are you saying is that if I buy a Verizon Blackberry Q10 I'll get it unlocked and I could use it with any other carrier with no limitations?
Is this true? Thanks in advance
Not 100% true: the radio stack in the Verizon phone will only allow you LTE on their network, so the best you can get outside of Verizon is HPSA+. Actually, all of Verizon's LTE devices are unlocked, but support for GSM bands may not be a large over all devices.
I have got to leave Verizon, the bad reception is killing me.
I think I would go to Tmobile because of their intl plans.
If I get this phone unlocked, anyone know if it will work overseas??
It claims that it is GSM compatible.
Also, how do I unlock it myself, or find someone reputable to do it for me???
thanks so much
The Verizon version of the Q10 is already unlocked. Where are you though that you get terrible coverage on Verizon? As for international coverage, the SQN-1002 will give you 3G just about anywhere.
You just bumped a one year old thread. Wtf.

I was replying to an existing thread, so that I didn't **** anyone off by asking something that had been addressed already.
Seems I pissed someone off anyway.
Perhaps that was inevitable.
That is WTF.
thanks
Thank you so much!!! I am in Minneapolis, and I swear I am in the one dead spot nightmare here.
THey sold me a $250 booster box that goes through the computer to help the coverage, and even THAT doesn't help. I spent 80 mins yesterday trying to figure it out with them, yet again.
I get dropped calls all over now, and that is ridiculous for the amount I am paying.
Should it be better???
