    Hi everyone!

I am purchasing a used Q10 off Kijiji. I was wondering what I should check for to make sure it is working properly. Thanks!

Yeah... swipe around, test all the keys and that's really about it.

Piece of advice: brush your fingertips over the keyboard to see if any keys are oversensitive.

I think the phones got a one year warranty regardless. So if it doesn't work exchange it with bb.

That works until you return it and they don't fix it because it has drop or water damage.

I would look for any scratches or cracks in the screen. I know it sounds obvious but sometimes people get over anxious and don't notice things.

And I would ask what their reason for getting rid of it as well. If they hesitate or don't have a good answer id ask if its stolen.

    1) Make sure you ask what the phone variant is and check if that specific variant works on the network you are going to be using (SQN100-1 100,2100-3,100-4, 100-5)
    2) Get the serial number of the phone. Call your mobile provider to verify if it can be activated (if the phone was reported stolen the serial number may be frozen)
    3)Check the screen for scratches
    4) Check the overall condition of the body

While powered on, place down on a table, see is it reboots. If yes, don't buy it.

Look for any strange runes, or other symptoms of the phone having been used to summon some form of eldritch horror. Does the speaker output only in demonic chanting? Both important things to check for.

I also bought a used Q10. This was my "10-point Check":

    1. Inspect for dents or warping that would indicate that the phone has been dropped.
    2. Check for water damage on the battery and the phone. White stickers should have turned red if it is water damaged.
    3. Inspect screen for cracks or scratches.
    4. Insert your sim card and boot up the phone to check if it can connect to your carrier. Some Q10 models do not work with some carriers without roaming, or not at all.
    5. Open up notepad and test the keyboard by typing: "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." as many times as you can and alternating the left and right Shift keys for the capital T. Look for consistently repeating or missing letters.
    6. Test the phone by calling someone, then have them call you back. Put the person on speaker phone.
    7. Test the WIFI radio if you are meeting in public with a hotspot.
    8. Test the bluetooth radio if you have a handsfree earpiece.
    9. Navigate around the interface and check for lag and dead or stuck pixels.
    10. Test the headphone jack and volume rockers.

    Hope that helps.
