    Hi,
On BlackBerry Q10 the message flag changes from UNread to READ all the time on accessing POP3 email via WI-FI. Anybody knows how to fix it? Is it a bug?
    Cheers from Ottawa

    First off, welcome to CrackBerry!
Please update your profile to include device, carrier, and location. This makes it easier for others to help you.

So do you mean that while you're in the Hub, Unread emails become turn into Read without you ever opening them?
I've actually randomly experienced that too. Sometimes seems like that day's emails are Read suddenly, but prior Unread stayed Unread. Happens very infrequently to me though.

I shortened the thread title for you a bit too, but hopefully still retained your meaning.

Thank you for your kind welcome and sharing your experience with the read/unread flag "spontaneous" change.

    Scenario:

    1. I'm accessing my email from my ISP via POP3. My email is downloaded to my laptop, 2 desktops, BlackBerry Bold, and Samsung tablet.

On all of these devices the READ / UNREAD flag is handled flawlessly.

    2. Now that I download my to BB Q10 via POP3 using WI-FI access WITHOUT SIM card - BB Q10 is the only device that
changes UNREAD flag to READ en mass. And occasionally it reverses the flag in order again to mark all as UNREAD.

    3. I consulted my ISP for advice but they do not have expertise with BB Q10 support. It seems that once you download the email, it is the
device responsibility to keep the READ / UNREAD flags correctly. Samsung tablet does it - also accesses my email via POP3 WI-FI access without SIM card.

Proper status marking is a fundamental email property and yet it is not working properly in my case.

My question is: Am I doing something wrong? If I do I would greatly appreciate help.

If this mishandling of the READ / UNREAD flags is a bug it would be helpful to learn about a fix for it.

I'm disappointed with the lack of solution from @BlackberryHelp. Their only suggestion is to pay $49 per incident. This is rather unprofessional
and really NOT taking responsibility for the product and treating customers like annoyance.

Hope that someone has already a solution for this issue and soon will share it with me.

    All the best from Ottawa,
    Henry
