    Hi all,

Does anyone know how to transfer the contacts only from my BB9900 to my new BBQ10 without using BBLink or Gmail?

I do not use Gmail nor want to use that method for a variety of reasons. Also I've downloaded and almost used Blackberry Link but this does not seem to suit my purpose as it seems like it would only transfer the entirety of the backup of the BB9900 to my Q10? If so, I do not want to use that for an important reason. My 9900 is my work (enterprise linked) mobile device. My Q10 is my fully unlocked personal device. I do not want to inadvertently transfer the IT policy or any enterprise stuff to my new phone as that defeats the purpose of paying to have my own private device. Not to mention the other junk on there I do not want to muddy my shiny new phone with.

    Thank you

Go into the BlackBerry World and download an app called Device Switch. It transfers any type of data from one phone to another over Wifi. It's a free download and you'll love it.

*I'm not the developer, nor do I have any financial relationship.

All you need is IntouchApp. Just install on your BB9900 and Q10 - done! No GMail or BB link needed. Plus, it will keep your contacts in sync between the two devices and you always have a secure online backup that you can restore to any supported device (iPhone, Android, etc are supported)

BlackBerry World - IntouchApp Contacts - Backup + Sync + Auto-update or visit intouchapp.com from your phone's browser

Thanks for your suggestion. Although when I downloaded the device switch app you specified, it only has options to transfer from android or iphone. When i tried downloading the same app on my BB9900 it was not available.

    Intouch app worked! Thanks.
Was a bit nervous about the free app taking my contact info and using it to sell to spammers... But after reading their privacy policy it appears they are not in the business of doing that. Thanks again.

Transfer them all via Bluetooth by selecting all your contacts on your 9900.... then send em to you BB10 device. Or, I believe you can also use BlackBerry Protect on your BB10 device.

Blackberry Protect on BB10 isn't like the BBOS now. It doesn't back anything up anymore.
