    I don't know what they are or what they do. I looked online but still don't quite understand. Can someone help me clarify? Also, do I save some battery by turning them off and what are the downsides? Thanks!

    Traffic Data - Means they anonymously capture some of your traffic data when Maps is being used to further improve maps.
    Location Based Ads - Means they anonymously capture some of your web traffic through cookies and such to show you ads that may be relevant to your specific location.

    And yes, you could likely save some battery by disabling but it's so minimal you'd never really notice. Also, this information is available on your device. Right under where it says locations services, "more info"
