How do you enable this feature as I'm not seeing it available? Does it come enabled on the phone or is an os update required?

It's in the settings menu under 'Network Connections', here's a screen shot of it on my T-Mo Q10.

Ohk I think I figured out what's happening when I put in a tmobile simcard I'm seeing the hotspot option when I put in my local simcard the option is gone. I may need to install a non tmobile os?

Maybe you need a special data plan for the Hotspot feature?

It's not possible to install carrier specific OS, but you can try to load a leaked OS and hope that your carrier isn't able to block the Hotspot feature. But I would give it very little chance.

Pretty much you either have to wait for a OS hack, a 3rd party app, or try some android apps side loaded but I haven't heard of solution that works yet.

Our prepaid sim can't do mobile hotspot, only postpaid can. So, carrier can control the hotspot.

It's up to your individual carrier, whether or not to enable the hotspot feature that is available on your smartphone.

T-Mobile does offer smartphone hotspot, but it is a feature that has to be added to your account.
