Hey guys, I'm having a really really annoying problem going on with my blackberry q10 device, it seems whenever I get a text message from somebody, it freezes, and doesn't allow me to type a message back, like it shows a cursor in the text box, however when I strike my keys nothing shows up, then in like 15 min the actual message screen refreshes, and I am able to text again. Anyone experience this problem?

Only when I tap the toast notification and try to reply normally. Quick reply works within the notification and replying to a text opened through the hub works also.

A lot of people have reported issues with SMS on BB10. I personally feel SMS messaging was much faster on BB7. Lucky for me I've been able to convince most of my core contacts to install BBM.

I have had this issue before.
It happened more notably when trying to create a text message by searching for the contact, and then composing the sms within the search window.

A fix that worked for me is to go to the hub, click on the 3dots in the lower right corner, and select refresh.

Also, since upgrading to 10.2.1.2941 a couple weeks ago, this issue has gone away.

The message string is too long and the phone is delayed in opening the string. It's pathetic that the os can't handle something so simple, but it is what it is (for now). Solution is to clear the string.

That's what I thought it was, so annoying, never had this problem with another bb

Another thing to try is even though you see the cursor. Still tap on the screen where you want to type then start typing. This has been my work around, when it happens.

Like others have said. Delete your text message string that is giving you the problem.

I also deleted all my text messages after an OS update to start fresh. This seems to be the best fix.
